Strategies are Forming after the NAACP Announcement....Bush Appears at BlackExpo

It will be important for grassroots reparations activists and other advocates to be a part of the NAACP's strategy for suing corporations that have ties to the TransAtlantic Slave Trade. I had conversations with several activists today who expressed their concerns about how and where the NAACP should enter the struggle.

Today, Bush appeared at the Black Expo in Indianapolis rather than making an appearance at the NAACP Annual Convention in Milwaukee. This is exactly what you would expect from an Alfred E. Neuman (Hillary's words not mine) president. As usual, white supremacists like Bush seek to divide Afrikans over *any* issue that benefits them. In this case, the NAACP cannot criticize the Black Expo organizers for having Baby Bush at their convention. It would have been nice, however if the Expo organizers would have simply refused his presence. Afrikans must overcome being in awe of white supremacists and their minions.

The facade under which Bush appeared at the Indiana Black Expo is disquieting to say the least. What appears at first glance to the "world at large" is that the Afrikan population here in Indianapois attended a luncheon intended to support the president. In actuality, the luncheon is an annual event, which has taken place for 30 years plus honoring Afrikans that have contributed to the community at large. The president's appearance was an orchestration put on by "our man Mitch" Daniels, the governor of our fair state, quietly keeping the plans secret until the 11th hour. Corporations that never looked once, never mind twice at buying tickets to support this luncheon, rushed in mass numbers to scoop up tickets after the announcement was made. In fact "extra" tables suddenly appeared to accommodate the demand. My reason for this long explanation is to point out that most Afrikan attendees at that luncheon, were not there in support of Bush, were absolutely surprised at the life time achievement award that was presented, and actually felt, "hoodwinked and bamboozled" by the whole production

  3. Thanks for this insight and information. It is amazing how the media *did* portray this as being orchestrated by the members of the Black Expo and that went out across the country. It's becoming a truism to say that Bush is dumb, stupid, etc. In reality, he may go down in history as *the* dumbest president with the slickest sidekicks, e.g., Rove who manipulate the media as they did that week in Indianapolis...

    Thanks again for the comment...
